LEICESTER: Yvonne M. (Gallant) Richard, 92 went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her husband of 56 years on Saturday February, 20 surrounded by her loving children.
Her husband Zoel J. Richard died in 2007. She leaves two sons; Edward C. and Donald J. Richard with whom she lived, a daughter Cora A. Franson and her husband Mark of Leicester, a half brother Oscar Gallant of New Brunswick, Canada, four half sisters; Eva Gallant of Quebec, Canada, Marguerite Gallant of New Brunswick, Canada, Cora LaBlond of Ontario, Canada and Yvonnisse Manual of New Brunswick, Canada and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Cora Ann, her step mother Leah Gallant, a brother Alderic Gallant, four half brothers; Alex, Gonzague, Antoine and Joseph Gallant and a half sister Mary Louise Gallant.
Yvonne was born in St. Anne-de-Kent, New Brunswick, Canada daughter of Sylvan and Exelda (Richard) Gallant. After the death of her mother at 18 months old she went to live and was raised by Charles P. and Antoinette Allain, with much love and affection. On August 18, 1951 she married the love of her life Zoel and soon after moved to the United States first settling in Worcester before moving to Leicester. She worked for many years at Becker College in the food service department before retiring. She was a devoted and faithful catholic. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the many trips to Canada to visit.
Funeral services and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester are private. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing funeral arrangements.
