Mary E. Pierce, in the presence of family, passed away peacefully at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on February 17th, 2021. The beloved mother of John "Jackie" Pierce, she was only 62 years of age
Raised in Medford by parents James W. "Buddy" Pierce and Evelyn (McMakin) Pierce, Mary graduated Medford High School in 1976. She went on to spend her time with people, whether it be her time in healthcare or many years as a dispatch operator, Mary made connections with people. That was her talent. Anyone who knew her has either shared many laughs or a few tears with her. At this moment we are best served to remember the laughs.
Along with her son John "Jackie" Pierce, Mary also leaves behind her beloved cat "Pretty." Mary is survived by brother James "Buddy" Pierce his wife Josephine and their children Christine, Michael, and Matthew as well as their families; Godfather Ralph "Pal" Wells and his children Judith, Ralph, and Rick, Mary is further survived by the many friends that she held dear.
Due to the current health pandemic and out of concern for everyone's wellbeing, services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the Pierce family requests that memorial gifts be made in Mary Pierce’s name to Mass General Hospital’s “General Internal Medicine/GP Residency Training Program Fund (272542)” in honor of Dr. Rashmi Jasrasaria and her colleagues’ for the compassionate care they provided to the Pierce family.
