Obituary

Helena A. (Moore) Hackett, 97, of Worcester died Saturday, February 20th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of 65 years, John L. Hackett died in 2016. She leaves her children and their spouses, John and Louise Hackett of North Attleboro, Anne Hackett and her husband, Thomas Devlin of Worcester, Kevin and Debra Hackett of Cumberland, RI, Brian and Deborah Hackett of Paxton and Mary and Paul Zamarro of Worcester. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael “John” Moore.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Roderick and Margaret (Mooney) Moore. Helena graduated from Ascension High School where she served as President of her class. She worked for O’Connell Insurance Agency for over 40 years as a bookkeeper, retiring at the age of 90.
Helena was a devout Catholic and was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and a member of its Women’s Guild. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her family at the beaches of Cape Cod and Maine.
The family would like to thank the staff at Tatnuck Park for the compassion and care Helena received during her stay.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services and burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held in the fall when it is safe to do so.
