CHICOPEE – Dorothy P. “Dottie” (Cleary) Hilton, 89, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 19, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Mission Care at Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving friends. She was born in Springfield on October 28, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Raymond F. and Sadie (Lawton) Cleary. She was raised in the Brightwood section of Springfield, graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1949 and had moved to Fairview in 1959. She was employed as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at the former W.T. Grants Department Store in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, George G. Hilton who was Called Home on June 7, 2005. They were married on October 12, 1957 at All Souls Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 47 years. She also leaves her many dear friends including her close friends, Jan and Marty Kandilakis and Peter and Marilyn Kandilakis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Virginia H. Brennan. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
