Obituary

The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Thomas “Tommy” Norman Canning, 54, of Boston, MA was granted his wings surrounded by his loving family on February 18, 2021. He was a caring devoted father and friend. A jack of all trades, retiree from the Local 12 Boston Plumbers Union, who made the impossible, possible.

Preceded by his father Kenneth Canning and brother Daniel Canning.
Tommy is survived by his mother Ginny O’Neil and soul-father Tom Menihan. His brother Kenneth Canning and two sisters Ginger Walter and Jennifer Canning.

He is also survived by his first love and mother of his children Zynetta Boseman; daughters Amelia French (and husband David) Tammy and Zynetta Canning. Tommy also extended his fatherly love to Scarlett Arias and Melina P. unconditionally. Tommy is also survived by a plethora of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and too many friends to mention.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 4-8PM at William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre Street West Roxbury. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10AM at Holy Name Parish followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery 990 Lagrange St. West Roxbury.

He will be greatly missed for his caring advocacy, positive attitude and love for all.
