Barbara Davidopoulos of Somerville, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the age of 68. She was born in Ano Glyfada, Athens Greece, on June 24, 1952 and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1966. She was the daughter of the late Hristos and Zafira (Mavromatis) Davidopoulos. Barbara was the loving mother of Despina Spiliotis of Somerville and cousin of Daniel and Janice Stamos. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and eight godchildren. She was the sister of the late Peter and Patricia (Barber) Davidopoulos, aunt of the late Mary Davidopoulos and fiance of the late Nickolaos D. Sarantopoulos.
Barbara was a resident of Somerville for 55 years. Honored graduate of Cambridge High and Latin and the Mansfield Beauty Academy of Boston. Secretary to the Superintendent of Somerville Public School System and the East Somerville Community School. Barbara devoted her life to her family, friends and her Greek Orthodox heritage. She will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, February 22, 2012, from 6 to 8 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 9 to 10 AM, in the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central Street, Somerville, followed by a Funeral Service, in the church, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be held in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford.
