Joseph E. Lunetta, age 64, of Woburn formerly of Medford passed away February 14, 2021, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. Born in Boston, Joseph was the cherished son of the late Joseph R. and Anna G. (Rikeman) Lunetta.
Raised and educated in Medford, Joseph was an outstanding student athlete at Medford High School where he was a member of the football team and a member of the 1974 graduating class. Joseph went on to further his education and was a graduate of Bentley University. He worked for many years as the Vice President and manager of Joseph's Catering of Woburn. Throughout his life, Joseph was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed Thoroughbred Horse racing, a passion that he shared with his late father. However, Joseph's greatest joy was his family and friends, nothing gave him more joy than to be surrounded by those he truly loved. He will be greatly missed.
Joseph is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Lunetta of Beverly, Michelle Gill and her husband Joel of Ossipee, NH, and Kristen Lunetta of Lynnfield. He was the grandfather of Bryn, Molly and Nora Gill. Devoted and much-loved brother of JoAnn Boback and her husband Edward of Reading, Christine Dyer and her husband Deric of Reading, and AnnMarie Milone of Woburn. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN Friday, February 26th, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. All attending must wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing protocols. Interment services will be private.
