Hannigan of So. Yarmouth formerly of Brockton and Denmark, Maine March 20, 2006 George C. Hannigan 84 years. Husband of the late Elfreda M.(Whynock) Hannigan. Father of Cheryl Guerrette and her husband Steve of Florida; Debra Moran and her husband Charles of Cape Cod; James Hannigan and his wife Waltraud; Robert Hannigan both of Maine; John Hannigan and his wife Roxanne of Halifax and the late William E. Hannigan. Grandfather of Jay, Bill, Meghan, Ryan. Brittany, Chelsea and Kalli.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish (St. Colman Church) at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 8-8:45 am. In lieu of flowers donations in George’s name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod 270 Communication Way, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Obituary

Mr. Hannigan died Monday morning at the home of daughter in South Yarmouth under the care of his family and hospice. He was born in Hull and raised in Brockton a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Ryan) Hannigan. Following his graduation from Brockton High School he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Pacific during WW II.
Mr. Hannigan enjoyed a long career in the electronics field. He had lived in Maine for several years following his retirement and most recently moved to the Cape to be with family.
Mr. Hannigan had stayed very interested in electronics and the navy attending several navy reunions.
When living in Brockton he was a member of St. Colman Church.
He is survived by his five children Cheryl Guerrette and her husband Steve of Florida; Debra Moran and her husband Charles of Cape Cod; James Hannigan and his wife Waltraud; Robert Hannigan both of Maine John Hannigan and his wife Roxanne of Halifax and the late William E. Hannigan.
He is survived by seven grandchildren and one sister Margaret Whalen of Brockton
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was the husband of the late Elfreda (Whynock) Hannigan, father of the late William E. Hannigan and brother of the late John J. Hannigan and Patricia Barry.
