MILLBURY /WEBSTER– Stasia D. Gasiciel, 88, of 37 Prospect St., died Monday, March 20, in Overlook Masonic Health Care, Charlton.
She leaves one nephew, several nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph, Frank and John Gasiciel and by her sisters Mary Eames, Stella Konicki, Rose Damian and Celia Paterak.
She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Wojciech and Frances (Piwowarski) Gasiciel. She lived in Millbury for over 20 years. She graduated from Our Lady of the Angels Academy in Lodi, NJ, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Catholic Teachers College in Providence, RI, and her Master of Education Degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT.
Miss Gasiciel was a teacher on the junior high school level for many years. She then was an assistant librarian at the Millbury Public Library before she retired in 1998. She was a member of both Saint Brigid Church in Millbury and Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster.
The funeral will be held Thursday, March 23, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster. Her nephew, Rev. Rinaldo Damian, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, in the funeral home.
