SHREWSBURY___Madeleine I. (Alarie) Desy, 83, of Shrewsbury formerly of Worcester passed away on Thursday February 11, 2021. Madeleine was born on March 1, 1937 a daughter of Henry and Annette Alarie. She was the beloved wife of 42 years to Paul who passed away in April 2007.
Madeleine was a loving and dedicated Mom to Leslie Twiss (husband Timothy) of Virginia and Paula Reid of Oxford; she was the cherished Mémère to Matthew and Nicholas Reid and to one great-grandson, Levi Reid. Madeleine also leaves a sister, Claire Gilbert of New Smyrna, Fl., and many nieces and nephews. She had a son-in-law, Andrew Reid; a sister, Jeanne Curtis of Worcester; and a brother, Paul Alarie of Eastham, who all predeceased Madeleine in the past couple years.
Mrs. Desy worked for several banks in Worcester and later as a temporary employee for Kelly Girl Services. She retired many years ago. Madeleine enjoyed playing cards with friends, playing Sudoku and crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Center, Multiple Myeloma Research Program, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, Ma., 02215. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester is assisting the family.
