Obituary

Aristidhi Thoma Pano, 82, of Worcester, died Monday, February 15th at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Margarita (Gjini) Pano; his son, Arian George Pano and his wife, of Worcester; his daughter, Iris Anastasia Pano of Worcester; and two grandchildren, Kevin and Alexander. His nephews, Michael, George, Thoma, Mariana, Irini of Vanister.

Mr. Pano was born in Vanister, Gjrokester, Albania and immigrated to the United States in 1997. Aristidhi was an accomplished engineer and executive during his career. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering University of Tirana in 1962 and went on to practice his profession in various infrastructure projects associated with building the countries electrical grid and water facilities. After years of field work, he served as an executive at the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Energy. He was respected and admired by his colleagues for his energetic leadership style, professionalism, his sense of humor, and faith. His pride and joy were his children, family and love for his Greek heritage and his small village Vanister. He was a compassionate and joyous individual with contagious laughter and a caring soul. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Aristidhi enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was beloved by all of his family, friends, colleagues and even passing acquaintances and will be greatly missed for his kindness, generosity, wisdom and sense of humor.

His funeral is Friday, February 19th with a service at 10:30 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. His visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
