Maria De Fatima Gomes (75) of Randolph died February 14th in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. She was the wife of the late Francisco Gomes DePina.
She was born in Ribeira Llheu, Fogo, Cabo Verde, daughter of the late Joao Pedro Gomes and Ana Gomes. Maria was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and enjoyed sitting on her rocking chair on her porch, catching up with her grandchildren in Cape Verde and spending time with her family.
Maria is survived by 3 sons, Lucindo Pires Gomes, Manuel Gomes DePina and Francisco Gomes DePina all of Cabo Verde, 4 daughters, Francisca Gomes of Dorchester, Maria Da Silva of Randolph, Ana Gomes Pires and Maria Manuela Pires Gomes both of Cabo Verde, a brother Antonio Alves of Cabo Verde, 3 sisters, Sirvina, Bunina and Lily Alves all of Cabo Verde, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. "She was loved by many and considered a grandmother to everyone who knew her, blessing us all with a love that had no limits."
Services in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday February 19th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main Street Brockton at 11 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
