MILLBURY-Thomas H. “Red” Holden, 89, formerly of 64 Suffolk Street, Worcester and Millbury died Sunday, March 19th in Millbury Health Care. His wife of 52 years, Marie E. (Breault) Holden died in 1994. He leaves his son, Thomas H. Holden, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Worcester, and a daughter Judith K. wife of, John Quinn of Slidell, LA, a brother-in-law, Raymond Breault of Pascoag, RI, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. His brother Frank Holden predeceased him.
He was born in Jefferson the son of Thomas H. and Julia (Sullivan) Holden. Tom had been employed for many years by O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home as a funeral directors assistant, retiring 21 years ago. Mr. Holden was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, the Model A Club, the Shrewsbury Car Club and a former member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks. “Red” will be remembered as a dedicated and tireless worker, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
The funeral is Wednesday, March 22nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holden. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 21st from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
