Charles S. Balfour, Sr., 90, of Continental Road, Greenville, Owner & operator of Clark’s Auto Service in Providence, died Saturday at the Hospice Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette V. (Nasso) Balfour. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in July.
Born in New York, he was the son of the late William Balfour & Anna (Miluck) Clark and stepson of Gordon Clark. A resident of Greenville since 1956 he had previously lived in Providence.
He was a member of the Smithfield Lodge of Elks, #2359 and the Board of Directors for the Smithfield Raiders Football Club and had been the Secretary for the RI Auto Dealers Assoc.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Joyce A. Malloy of Cranston, a son Charles S. “Bud” Balfour of Glocester, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Monday 5-8pm.
