Ed Taylor, 80, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Mike Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 Monday evening.
Mr. Taylor was born March 8, 1926, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late A.D. and Willie King Taylor. He had lived in the community most of his life and was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired meat market manager for the Colonial Store and an avid outdoorsman and quail hunter. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and a Mason.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Lataine Taylor of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Jay Taylor of Grayson and Mendy Vickers of Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren: Cam and Emilee Vickers of Fitzgerald; and one brother and sister-in-law: Rev. Farise and Maxine Taylor of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
