Joan C. Browning, 93, of Brockton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 after a long and full life. She was an adventurous spirit, up for anything and always ready to go. Joan loved the outdoors; she was an avid skier and pursued it with passion. She loved to swim in the ocean and walk the trails along the North River. Joan enjoyed driving her car to nowhere in particular and in more recent years would still jump in the passenger’s seat without hesitation.
Joan was ahead of the curve in life. She graduated from Boston University in 1949 and forged a path as a young professional woman in a time when that wasn’t at all easy. With her independent spirit, Joan built a life of self-reliance and fulfillment.
She enjoyed many beautiful friendships and had an easy way of letting you know you were special. Joan never had a family of her own but was embraced as a beloved member of many families.
There will be a graveside service for Joan on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at 11am in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton where she will be buried next to her mother Joan Ruth Croce. In following COVID guidelines masks must be worn at the cemetery and social distancing observed. Please consider making a donation in Joan’s name to the charity of your choice.
