Dorothy Jean (Blangeard) Greene, 77, of Millis, died peacefully in her sleep at home with her family on Sunday, February 7, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Norman W. Greene for 51 years.
Born in Milford on September 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Julien and Dorothy A. (Sawyer) Blangeard.
Dottie was a resident of Millis for the past 12 years and formerly resided in Bellingham. She grew up in Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1961.
Dottie had worked at the former Carter’s in Needham until getting married and then became a homemaker, working part time while raising her family.
She loved animals, especially her beloved cat Frizz.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Julie A. McCarthy and her husband J.C. of Blackstone, her son Joseph A. Greene of Millis and her three beloved grandchildren, Jarrod, Kaitlyn and Noah McCarthy of Blackstone.
She is also survived by her siblings, Marjorie Doyle of Maynard; Arthur Blangeard and his wife Donna of Medway; Carol Silva and her husband Al of Medway; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Medway Community Church, 196 Main Street in Medway on Monday, February 15th at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 14th from 4–7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). Please follow all required Covid-19 guidelines including face coverings and social distancing.
