Obituary

Kermit L. Shepard, 76, of Bockmon’s Motor Home Park, Londonderry, NH died March 19, 2006 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born August 9, 1929, the son of Foster F. and Grace A. (Beadle) Shepard and was a lifelong resident of Londonderry. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1947 and the Bishop-Lee School of Theater and Radio, of Boston, MA, Class of 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1950-52. Mr. Shepard was elected as the town of Londonderry Tax Collector in 1977 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1994. He had served the town is several volunteer positions, including the Fire Department from 1955 to 1980, the Budget Committee, Town Auditor and for the 250th Anniversary of “Old Nutfield” committee. He also worked in the local access cable television, Channel CTV-20. He was a member of the Greeley-Parmenter-Harrington Post #27 American Legion of Londonderry.
IN HIS LIFE he is survived by a son, Richard Shepard and his wife, Laurie, of Contoocook, NH, a daughter, Tami St. James and her husband, Kevin, of Kingston, NH a granddaughter, Deryn St. James, and a grandson, Seamus St. James, both of Kingston.
Calling hours were on Wednesday, March 22 from 2 to 4 PM in the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service was held at 4 PM in the funeral home. Cremation followed. Memorial donations may be made to the Londonderry Historical Society, PO Box 136, Londonderry, NH.
