Obituary

HOLLIS- Barry S. Leighton, of Hollis, age 74 passed away Feb.3, 2021 at
Mercy hospital from complications from Covid, after a hard-fought battle.

Barry was born Dec. 20, 1946, son of Lloyd Leighton and Marjorie Leighton
Plummer. He grew up in Hollis and still lived there.

Barry attended Bonny Eagle High School. He joined the Army in 1964 and
served in Vietnam. He was very proud to serve his country.

After the service, Barry had many different jobs, finally landing at
Central Maine Power, running the Bonny Eagle Power Station for many years until retiring from
there. He was an avid Hot rod owner with 1955 Chevy’s being his favorite. He owned many
through the years, but his favorite, his 1955 Chevy "Satisfaction" which he built, was
his pride and joy. His favorite pastime was "smoking tires!” He also loved to play
horseshoes. He also enjoyed his weekly get togethers with his old cronies.

Barry is survived by his loving wife, Carol, his children, Jolene and her
partner Richard of Sarasota, FL, Jaclyn of St. Augustine and Janine of
South Portland, his stepchildren, Scott Waterman and his wife Aimee, Julie
Larrivee and her husband Dana, his grandsons, Kaleb Waterman and Trevor
Larrivee (he sure loved them), his sisters, Nancy Weber of North Carolina and Sally Locke of Hollis. He
was predeceased by his parents and brother David.

The family wishes to thank the Mercy Hospital ICU department and the 4th
floor for their wonderful care and keeping the family informed in these trying times.
