Mr. John B. DiPietro, beloved husband of Frances L. (Shea), and longtime resident of Medford, died at the Courtyard Nursing Center in Medford on Wednesday evening, March 15, 2006. He was 91 years old.
Mr. DiPietro was born in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Battiste and Lucia (Bulluto) DiPietro, on April 23, 1914. He was a graduate of East Boston High School. Mr. DiPietro married his beloved wife, Frances, nearly 70 years ago on April 4, 1936. He was a sign painter for Stop & Shop for more than 20 years and was the proprietor of Realty Sign Company for more than 40 years. In his spare time Mr. DiPietro enjoyed fishing and boating and was a 15 year member of the Riverside Yacht Club in Medford. He was also a long time communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford.
Besides his wife, Frances, Mr. DiPietro will be sorely missed by his son and daughter-in-law, John F. “Skip” and Beverly DiPietro of Woburn; daughter and son-in-law, Janice E. and Michael F. Saviano of Atkinson, N.H. and Eleuthera, Bahamas; three grandchildren, Michael F. Jr. and John A. Saviano and Brenda A. (DiPietro) Ruisi and one great-granddaughter, Sophia A. Ruisi. He was also the brother of the late Nick DiPietro.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD, Monday at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
