Obituary

BUXTON- Shawn L. Heal, age 45, passed away at his home on February 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Shawn was born in Westbrook on June 2, 1975, the son of Bobby and Gale Heal. He attended Buxton schools graduating from Bonny Eagle High School.

Shawn spent his childhood and through most of his adulthood as a member on the Chicopee Fire Department with the rank of Captain. He also spent a few years on the Hollis and Limington Fire Departments.

Shawn enjoyed many things, fishing of all kinds especially with his kids Thomas and Abby. He enjoyed hunting and even went duck hunting this past season for the first time. Loved golfing with his Uncles Gene and Skee. He would play Dungeons and Dragons on Friday nights with his friends. He enjoyed playing paint ball and from what I have heard he was a pretty good at it as well, people would come to tournaments to seek him out. He loved sports, was a big Dallas Cowboys fan, huge L.A. Lakers fan, and enjoyed watching Nascar. He was also a huge fan of Rock and Roll and anyone that knew him knew his love for it. A few of his favorite bands were AC/DC, and Van Halen.

What we will remember the most about Shawn was how he was truly a genuine person. How much he loved and cared about his kids. He would always be there to help you with any projects that you had going on and would never expect your help in return. He was the life of any BBQ and Dance that we had. His smile, his laugh, and great hugs will be missed very much by so many.

So when you here the song Sharp Dressed Man come on the radio I hope it brings a big smile to your faces and you remember Shawn out on that dance floor entertaining everyone and doing what he loved, and that was just having a fun and a good time.

Shawn is survived by his parents - Gale Heal and Bobby Heal of Buxton, His Children Thomas and Abbigail Heal of Waterboro, Sister Shawna Merola, Her Husband Michael Merola, Nephews Owen Merola, Zachary Merola, Kaleb Merola, and Mason Merola of Naples, multiple Aunts and Uncles, and Cousins.
