Obituary

INGRAO, Nina C. de W. Age 87, of Boston formerly of Cambridge and Wellesley, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021.

Nina was a professor at Harvard University for 40 years. She taught many popular courses of Spanish during her 35 year tenure in the Romance languages and literatures department of Harvard College. She also taught various Spanish courses at the Harvard Extension School for 25 years.

In addition to her academic work, Nina was well known at Harvard for her sartorial style. Always impeccably dressed for her classes, her style was elegant and classic yet fashion forward. She was featured in an article on fashion in the Harvard Crimson and was photographed for the book, Harvard - A Living Portrait.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina she was a beloved daughter of the late Federico and Ines (Carrara) Compton de Willock, and the devoted mother to her sons, Carl and his wife Susie of Burlington and Walter and his wife Linda of Hingham. She is survived by her sister Cristina C. de Willock of Buenos Aires and was preceded in death by her sisters Hebe C. de W. Añaños and Else C. de W. Bortagaray.

Nina was a wonderful mother, an accomplished college professor and a great role model to her sons. She will always be in our hearts and her love will always be with us.

A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, Monday, Feb. 8 from 9-11am followed by a funeral service beginning at 11am in the funeral home. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Please follow all Covid-19 guidelines. Interment will be private.
