PORTLAND, MAINE: Donna M. Fitzgerald, 61, formerly of Wayland, died on Thursday evening, January 28, 2021 surrounded by her family at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after suffering a stroke.
She was born in Brighton on October 19, 1959 the daughter of the late Hubert B. Fitzgerald and Janet B. (Bruyette) Fitzgerald.
Donna is survived by her brothers; Timothy B. Fitzgerald and his wife Karen of Waltham, MA; Michael J. Fitzgerald and his wife Louise of Nashua, NH; and Daniel J. Fitzgerald and his wife Shauna of Lancaster, MA. She was the loving and devoted aunt to Sean and his wife Becky, Kelly, Bethany, Andrea, Melissa, Caroline, Daniel and Leo. Donna also leaves her aunt Kathleen Bruyette and many cousins and friends.
Donna has resided in Maine for many years and spent her formative years in Wayland, MA and was a graduate of Wayland High School. She was an accomplished Hair Stylist and was most notably associated with the Matthew John Salon.
She enjoyed spending as much time as possible at the beach and particularly loved summers at Higgins Beach in Scarborough with her brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Donna loved having a great time and never missed out on a good party. She will be loved and remembered by all for her warm smile and kindness she showed to everyone she met.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, her family will have private services and interment. She will be laid to rest with her parents at the family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
Her family plans to celebrate Donna’s life at a later date this summer when it will be safe to gather together.
