Obituary

WEBSTER – Betty J. (Cox) Keuper, 94, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her daughter’s home after a short illness. Her husband of 50 years, Donald E. Keuper, died in 2000.

She leaves 3 daughters, Carol A. Abigana and her husband John of Southbridge, Deborah L. Johnson of Portland, Maine and Janet L. Jablonowski and her husband Thomas of Rancho Mirage, CA; 6 grandchildren, Brett K. Abigana and his wife Nadine, Kaitlyn D. Johnson and her spouse Audrey, Hilary J. Abigana and her husband Donovan Neiford, Holland B. Covell and her husband Sean, Cassandra K. Johnson and Hayley L. Jablonowski; and 6 great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Caeli, Hendrick, Brady, Lucy and Silas. She was preceded in death by her brother James Cox.

She was born on August 22, 1926 in Trinidad, CO, the daughter of John J. and Lodema (Kinley) Cox and grew up in Colorado and Texas, residing in California most of her life. She graduated from high school in Dalhart Texas and completed the course of studies to become a registered nurse at Los Angeles Coutry General School of Nursing. She moved to this area in 2019.

As a registered nurse, she worked in the neonatology department at both Good Samaritan Hospital and then at Santa Theresa Hospital, both in San Jose before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2021 in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Visitation will be held from 12:45 until the service in the funeral home. Current health guidelines will be followed and everyone must wear a mask. Burial will be in Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland, CA. Donations in her memory may be made to Christopher Heights Resident Activity Fund, 338 Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
