AUBURN-Edward T. Fitzgerald, 79, of Auburn, died, Saturday, March 18th in the Life Care Center of Auburn. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Beverley A. (Wilson) Fitzgerald, a son, Michael W. and his wife Patricia A. Fitzgerald of Cumberland, RI, a brother, Robert M. Fitzgerald of Fairfield, CA, and a sister Anna Flattery of Worcester. 3 brothers, John M., William F. and Paul J. Fitzgerald predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of John M. and Helen L. (McGahey) Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was a graduate of South High School, and was a World War II Navy veteran. He had owned and operated the Wiley Whitney Company for almost 30 years, and later worked as a salesman for Boutwell-Owens Company, Inc. for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Auburn, and a member for over 61 years of the Main South Post 341 American Legion. He enjoyed golf and gardening.
The funeral is Monday, March 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
