
Janette Reinhardt Phelps, 94, of Tifton went to her eternal home on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ree Reinhardt and the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. Phelps will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Letha Hartley and her son, Richard Phelps, will give eulogies. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2021, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Covid-19 guidelines will be observed during the visitation and the funeral service.
Will Reinhardt, Charlie Reinhardt, John Christian, Seth Freeman, Joe West and Kenny NeSmith will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 5, 1926 in Sycamore, Mrs. Phelps was the daughter of the late Robert Eugene Reinhardt and Maggie Branch Reinhardt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmore V. Phelps; one daughter, Nancy Goins; one brother, George Robert “Bob” Reinhardt; and one sister, Rosemary Bickley. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. She loved her family and she loved and enjoyed life and loved to travel.
Mrs. Phelps is survived by one son, Richard Phelps of Jacksonville, Alabama; a son-in-law, Stephen Goins of Phoenix, Arizona; and one brother, William Dyke Reinhardt of Sycamore and Atlanta.
