ANDOVER – Mr. Richard H. Dunn of Andover, Naples Florida and Maine, beloved husband of Cornelia T. (Weir) Dunn, died Friday, March 17, 2006, at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence. He was 72 years old.
Born in Queens, New York, on February 11, 1934, he was a cherished son of the late Hugh and Helen (Kuhn) Dunn. Mr. Dunn was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Long Island, New York, class of 1952. He was also a graduate of the W.C. Post College in Long Island.
Mr. Dunnhad been a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church of Andover and was a member of the Andover Country Club and was an avid golfer in his spare time. Mr. Dunn was an Army veteran, serving from 1952 thru 1960, attaining the rank of Corporal. During his working career, he had served as President of the Delta Elevator Company in Boston, retiring in 1996.
Besides his beloved wife of 43 years, Cornelia, he was the loving father of Maura C. and her husband Russell Lowe of Andover and Andrew B. and his wife Alyson Dunn of Naples, Florida; cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Joseph and Riley Lowe and Aaron and Aiden Dunn; devoted brother of Dorothy Martines of Renton, Washington, Patricia and her husband Norman Kerr of Honolulu, Hawaii, Carol and her husband John Woelell of Ocala, Florida, Kathy Ferrera of Long Island, New York, Donald and his wife Caroline Dunn of Long Island, New York and Gerald and his wife Diane Dunn of Whitman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, ANDOVER, Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Calling hours were held, Monday, March 20, 2006, in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home 390 North Main Street, Andover, Monday from 4 to 8 PM.
