Rolland E. Lawrence Sr., 70, of High St., Derry, NH died Monday November 19, 2001 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Manchester, NH following a sudden illness. Mr. Lawrence was born in Franklin, Pa, on August 10, 1931, the son of the late, Vivian and Evelyn (McKane) Lawrence Sr. He had resided in Derry since 1985, formerly living in Tyngsboro, Ma, and Franklin, Pa. Mr. Lawrence was a 21 year US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era and was a purple heart recipient. He was employed as a former Police Officer in Cambridge and Ayer, Ma. He had been employed as a security officer for Raytheon Corp. and Dynamics Research, both of Andover, Ma. He had also been employed with Prince Macaroni in Lowell, Ma. He held memberships in the Masonic Temple in Fitchburg, Ma, and the Church of God in Franklin, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Eliane M. (Blais) Lawrence, Derry, NH, four sons, Roland Garisson, Rolland E. Lawrence Jr., Calvin Lawrence, Michel Ringuette, eight daughters, Debra Manning, Lisa Lawrence, Chantal Morin, Vivian Gates, Therese Lawrence, Evelyn Lawrence, Annette Lawrence, Alexandra Lawrence, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, four brothers, Calvin Lawrence, Dennis Lawrence, Elu Lawrence, Roland “Bay” Lawrence, one sister, Barbara Lawrence, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He had been predeceased by five brothers, Theodore, Duke, Curtis, Vivian Jr. and Donald, also by three sisters, Austie Maher, Austie Lawrence and Vera Lawrence.
Friends may call on Friday November 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 24th at 10:00am in the funeral home with cremation to follow.
