Ann (Ryan) Paulsen, 70, of Whitman passed away January 26, 2021 peacefully with family by her side.
Ann was born in Brockton to the late Mortimer and Catherine (McGrath) Ryan.
She graduated from Brockton High School and Bryant & Stratton Jr. College. Her early career started at Blue Cross, the Whitman Public Schools and finally at Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare where she relished in the friendship she made and the people she met.
Married to her devoted husband Paul Paulsen for 47 years. Loving Mom to son Kevin and wife Julie of Hingham & daughter Maura and husband Andrew of Middleboro and her pride and joy – grandchildren Owen & Brody; she is also survived by her sister Mary (Ryan) O’Brien and husband Bob of Naples, FL; brother-in-law James Paulsen of East Bridgewater; niece Laura O’Brien and husband Julian of Maryland; nephew Dan O’Brien and wife Kayleigh of Shrewsbury.
Ann loved Cape Cod – mostly Eastham and Cooks Brook Bay but any beach brought her joy. She loved reading and passing on her books, walking and traveling – especially her trip to Ireland with her sister Mary and the many vacations with husband Paul. She cherished her sweet friends, Lori McLeod and Emily Henry with whom she shared life’s sweetest moments with. Her greatest role was that of “Gramma” to Owen & Brody, who could do no wrong in her eyes. She will be missed for her energetic joy and love she brought to all.
We humbly thank the staff at the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree for their compassion and care towards Ann and her family.
Funeral Services will be private following COVID-19 protocols and restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice House, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
