Richard Legendre, 60, of Reed Road, Westport, died Tuesday, August 5, 1997 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Muriel F. (Patenaude) Legendre.
He was born in the Bronx, NY, son of the late Armand J. and Angelina (Janson) Legendre, and had resided in Westport since 1965.
Mr. Legendre was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. A 1960 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, he was employed by Globe Manufacturing Company in Fall River as Chief Chemical Engineer until his retirement in January of 1997 after 37 years with the company.
Including his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Brian R. Legendre of Westport and Marc S. Legendre of Westport; 2 sisters: Lucille L. Empson of Palmdale, CA and Laurette L. Poindexter of Perris, CA; 4 grandchildren: Brian R. Legendre, Jacquelyn R. Legendre, Brook E. Legendre & Brenna E. Legendre.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Friday, August 8, 1997 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
