Obituary

COFFEY Ann Marie (Marrone) 63 of Needham passed away on Saturday, January 23rd at home with her family by her side.

Ann was born in Worcester on April 15,1957 to Donald and Edith Marrone. She is the youngest of five siblings. A graduate of Georgetown University, she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Boston College and worked as a nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston for over 37 years. On December 1st, 1979, she met her husband Jack, and they would spend the next 41 years together raising their children Sean (32), Ryan (29) and Jaclyn (28).

In addition to being a loving and supportive wife, Ann was a gentle and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, as well as a compassionate nurse. She loved spending time with her family - especially her two granddaughters - and watching her favorite Boston sports teams.

Her memory and legacy will live on through her husband Jack, and their children; Sean, his wife Kayla, and their daughter Rory Rae; Ryan and his girlfriend Meg; Jaclyn Kelley, her husband Stephen, and their daughter Ann Marie, her namesake; and her loyal dog, Gracie.

Although petite in stature, she was fiercely passionate and protective about the people and things that mattered to her the most. Her daughter would always remind her - “though she be but little, she is fierce.”

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 27th from 4-7pm at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. Needham.
