BROOKS, Roberta F. "Bobbie" (Kerr). Of Chelsea, March 17th. Devoted mother of Patricia Johnson and her husband Myles of Saugus, Wayne Brooks of Wakefield, John "Buddy" Brooks and his wife Theresa of Danvers, Robert Brooks and his wife Mary of North Carolina, formerly of Braintree and Jayne Carbone and her husband Steven of Saugus. Wife of the late Robert Brooks. Beloved sister of Phyllis Manning of New Hampshire, Wayne T. Kerr of Chelsea and William Kerr of Peabody. Cherished grandmother of Jamie-Lee, Jennifer, Victoria, Meghan, Thomas, Sean, Jillian, John, Ashley, Danielle, Andrew, Connor and Grace. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews as well as a close family friend, Crisshelle Coffey of Chelsea. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Tuesday morning, March 21st at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, CHELSEA at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Expressions of sympathy in "Bobbie's" name may be made to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, 17 Lafayette Avenue, Chelsea 02150.

After a long and sometimes difficult battle with health issues over the past years, Roberta, at 71, passed away peacefully early Friday morning at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, where she had been receiving transitional and hospice care.

Born and raised in Malden, "Bobbie" had been a member of the Chelsea community since her early years. For a short time, she was employeed by the First National Stores, but for all who knew her she will be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who offered guidance, compassion and the ability to make everyone smile and laugh even in the hardest of times.
