Major Robert Earl Buice, U.S.M.C., (Ret.), 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Buice was born March 3, 1937, in Oakland, California, to the late Royal & Olive Georgina Morton Buice. Mr. Buice served his country honorably and retired from the United States Marine Corps. He had lived in the community for 30 years and was a maintenance supervisor for Gold Kist. Mr. Buice was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Buice of Fitzgerald; children: Rebecca Sutherland, Cathryne Buice & Hank and Ashley Buice; one grandchild, Robert Conner & Elaine; great-grandchildren: Emily Conner, James Conner, Alex Conner, Mathew Conner and Rose Conner; a great-great-grandchild, Libby Conner; five siblings: George Buice & Sydney, Jean Hilderbrand, Barney Buice & Marilyn, Richard Buice & Andrea and Diane Reeve & Paul and an adopted family: Brandie & Juan Castro and their children: Kathryn, Juan, Justin and Diana. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
