Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Louis F. Ferioli, 97, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Springfield on September 21, 1923, the beloved son of the late Ferdinando and Clementina (Giberti) Ferioli. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Technical High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He furthered his education and attended the Western New England College branch of Northeastern University. He worked for the Electric Motor Repair Company in Springfield and also was employed for 16 years as an OSHA Safety Inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Labor Industries and retired in 1989. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and a lifelong member and Past Treasurer of the Marconi Club, both in Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool and maintaining his yard. He also enjoyed watching football, hockey and westerns on TV. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving and caring husband to Jacqueline B. (Ballard) Ferioli. They were married on October 15, 1949 at the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 71 years of happiness together. He also leaves his three children, Christine F. Archambault and her husband, Ronald, of Hampden, David B. Ferioli and his wife, Linda, of West Springfield and Daniel J. Ferioli of Springfield and his fiancée, Amy Morin, of Easthampton; his three grandchildren, Barry Archambault and his wife, Laura, of Downington, PA, Lauren Archambault of Philadelphia, PA and Alexis Ferioli-Morin and her husband, Zak Morin, of West Springfield; his two great-grandsons, Evan and Dylan Archambault; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters and his brother-in-law, Eva Carduff and Anita Bacchiocchi and her husband, Gino. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Road, Springfield, MA 01109. His Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home, Church and cemetery attendance are limited due to state regulations).
