Obituary

Kenneth W. Bewsee, age 85, passed away on January 17, 2021 from Baystate Medical Center. He was born on April 20, 1935 in Springfield, the son of the late William and Enis (Loncrini) Bewsee. He was raised in the south ends of Springfield. Ken graduated from trade high school. He was a proud Patriot and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, obtaining the rank of Corporal. He served his Country in Korea and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Medal. Ken was very proud of his military service. He helped coach girls’ softball teams in East Springfield and also was a member of East Springfield American Legion, Post 420. He was a sales Representative for ADT Security Services and retired in 1997. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Joe D. Golf League for over 35 years. He was also an avid Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox Fan. He enjoyed semiannual vacations that he and Sue took to Ogunquit, ME and Niantic, CT. Ken leaves his loving wife of 34 years, Suzanne M. (Daigneault) Bewsee of Chicopee; a son Michael of Willimantic, CT; a daughter Amy Maziarz and her husband Marty of South Hadley; a step-son, Gordon Strobel Jr and his wife Rose of West Springfield; a step-daughter Darcy Dineen and her husband Dan of Belchertown; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Mariberi. Ken was predeceased by his sisters and their husbands, Joan and Jerry Shea, Carol and Joseph Denno and Rosemary Girard. The family requests donations be made in memory of Ken to Gary Sinise Foundation, PO Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365 or Garysinisefoundation.org. Anyone who comes to the wake, please dress casually and comfortably. The family wishes to thank Baystate Pulmonary rehabilitation for their great care and motivation provided over a long period of time. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Prayer Service in the Funeral Home at 11:45 AM. Burial will take place in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
