FALL RIVER – João P. Dutra, age 84 passed away on Jan. 16, 2021 in St. Anne’s Hospital after a courageous battle with COVID19. Born in Algarvia Nordeste, São Miguel, Açores, the son of the late Selertino M. & Agatha (Pacheco Silva) Dutra. João was the beloved husband of Maria Liduina B. (Tavares) Dutra.
Prior to retiring, João worked for American Dryer as a welder. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church along with his wife in which they would frequently attend 4:00 mass on Saturday’s.
In addition to his wife Maria Liduina, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Pereira (husband João); three grandchildren, Kathy Elizabeth Pereira, Victoria Mary Pereira, and Scarlett Rose Pereira; a great grandson, Tristan Mantoe Pereira; many nieces & nephews. Maria Liduina was the sister of the late Maria do Carmo Dutra, Germaine Dutra, David Dutra, Emanuel Dutra.
João’s funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, Jan 28th with a Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M.
