Obituary

Frank Gallo, age 88, of Saugus passed away on Sunday, January 17th. Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Carmen and Madeline (Madugno) Gallo. Frank proudly served in the Army during the Korean War, after which he was employed by General Electric, retiring as a Contract Administrator. He lived in Medford before settling in Saugus 35 years ago.

Frank loved trips to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. He spent many happy winters in his home in Lake Suzy, FL, and also loved ballroom dancing which is where he met his beloved wife of 40 years, Celeste (Martinello) Gallo.

Frank was the devoted father of Frank Gallo and his wife Janet of Lynn, and the dear step-father of Steven Urban and his wife Gail of Punta Gorda, FL, Paul Urban and his wife Debby of Medford, and Stanley Urban and his wife Kelly of Sutton. He was the cherished brother of Nicholas Gallo and his wife Rose of Burlington, Daniel Gallo and his wife Mary of Lynnfield, Anthony Gallo of Lynn, and the late Constance Petrone, Catherine Pepoira and Carmen Gallo. Frank is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford on Friday, January 22nd at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are encouraged to arrive at the main gate by 12:45 PM. Due to the pandemic, visiting hours have been omitted and social distancing protocols will be in effect throughout the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Frank’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
