Edith Whitten Roberson, 86, of Chula died Friday, March 17, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Allen will officiate. Mickey Roberson, Neal Roberson, Todd Roberson, Scott Carlson, Patrick McDaniel and Randy Ogletree will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson and at other times will be at the residence of Murray Roberson at 438 Chula-Whiddon Mill Road.
Ms. Roberson was born on April 4, 1916 in Tift County and was the daughter of Walter Whitten and Eunice Pearman Whitten, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hurschel Bradley Roberson. She was a homemaker and loved her garden flowers.
Ms. Roberson is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Winfred and Faye Roberson of Chula, Murray and Jewell Roberson of Chula and Earl "Buddy" and Marie Roberson of Moultrie; one sister, Loyce Hinson of Ashburn; five grandchildren, Tim Roberson of Moultrie, Neal Roberson of Chula, Todd Roberson of Tallahassee, FL, Shannon Roberson McDaniel of Tifton and Carla Roberson Carlson of Tifton; and three great grandchildren, Austin McDaniel, Madeline McDaniel and Garrett Carlson.
