MEDFORD – Eileen M. (Lawn) Abruzzese, 88, of Medford, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 15, 2021.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis G. Abruzzese, Sr. who died December 7, 1980.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, December 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Michael Lawn and Nellie (Cremin) Lawn. She received her education in the Immaculate Conception School System in Malden. Eileen was a stay-home Mom until her children were in High School and then worked as a Healthcare Provider until her retirement. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. She also enjoyed reading books, doing word search and crossword puzzles, playing cards, and games.
Eileen is survived by five daughters Mary Abruzzese, of Coos Bay, Oregon, Patricia Gibson and her husband Doug of Peabody, Massachusetts, Eileen Yunes of Salem, New Hampshire, Margaret Finnigan and her husband Rick of Medford, Massachusetts, and Kathleen Moore and her husband, Doug of Wilmington, Massachusetts; three sons Louis Abruzzese and his wife, Annette of Lowell, Massachusetts, Michael Abruzzese and his wife, Michelle of Burlington, Massachusetts, and John Abruzzese and his wife, Kristin of York, Maine. 24 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 3 sister-in-laws Dottie Abruzzese of Woburn, Massachusetts, Jean Gontarz and her husband Don of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, Ricky Naipo of Oahu, Hawaii; 2 brother-in-laws, Michael Abruzzese and his wife Sharon of Stoneham, Massachusetts and Pat Abruzzese and his wife Joanne of Simi Valley, California; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
