Mary Catherine (Morris) Ledwith, 92, of Franklin, MA, died peacefully on Thursday, January 14, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Ledwith.
Born in Boston, April 29,1928, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine (Corbett) Morris, and sister of the late Theresa, Helen, Kay, Irene, Peggy, and Eugenia.
Upon marrying, Paul and Mary moved to Medfield in 1957 where they lived and raised their family for over 40 years. Mary worked as a medical secretary at the Medfield State Hospital until her retirement.
Mary and Paul enjoyed taking scenic drives throughout New England, and cherished special trips, including Ireland, Canada, and several cruises. A fun-loving soul, Mary enjoyed poetry, bingo, socializing with her many friends, and was a great fan of Irish music. With Paul, Mary traveled far and wide to see her favorite, Noel Henry’s Irish Showband.
Mary and Paul settled in Franklin in 2004, where Mary enjoyed going to the Senior Center, socializing with new and true-blue friends, playing bingo, partaking of their many special events, and notably, harassing and being harassed by Mike, one of her favorite bus drivers.
Mary’s capacity for love and compassion was unsurpassed.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Gilbert, and partner Robert Gagnon, of Uxbridge; Terri Coletta and husband Chip, of Norfolk; Amy Brady and husband David, of Norfolk; and Paul Ledwith of Franklin.
Mary was also adored by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and of course, her beloved grand dog, Copa Joe (whom she spoiled with too many treats!).
A private funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 19 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10:00.

Interment will be in Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105-9959.
