FALL RIVER… Shirley C. (Aguiar) Herweck, 78, of Fall River passed away January 14, 2021 peacefully at home with her family by her side.
She was the loving wife of the late Arnold W. Herweck.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Carvalho) Aguiar and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Herweck had worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God and had volunteered at the Food Pantry in Somerset. She had enjoyed going to Karaoke with her friends and loved dancing. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son: Michael Fontaine and his wife, Christine, of Fall River; her brother Ronald Aguiar of New Hampshire; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Stephen Fontaine and sister of the late Dorothy May, Flossy Aguiar, Raymond Aguiar and Edward Aguiar.
Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 6 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 - 6 PM, prior to the service. We respectfully ask that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
