Robert Earl "Bobby” Menengas, a long-time resident of Wellfleet, moved on to his forever home with God on Tuesday January 12, 2021. He was the son of the late Melvin and Madelyn Menengas. Known to friends and family as Bobby, he graduated from Cape Cod Technical School in 1977.
Bobby was an avid collector of coins and baseball memorabilia, and found enjoyment watching boxing and playing chess. He loved simple things like spending time with his grandmother at her home in Wellfleet. He also enjoying breakfast with his aunts and uncles who have now predeceased him.
In his later days Bobby found great peace from communicating with the pastor of Grace Chapel in Wellfleet.
Bobby leaves two brothers, Antonio Menengas of Mashpee, and Charles Menengas of Wellfleet, as well as a sister, Maria Smith of Plymouth. Although Bobby never had children of his own, he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, Tara Ryan, Jacob Smith, Emma Menengas and Gabriel Menengas. Bobby enjoyed taking them to the arcade during school vacations, helping with their pet bird and creating many other fond memories they'll carry with them. Bobby also leaves behind three great nephews Jonah, Asher and Joshua Ryan.
A Service for Bobby will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 7th at Grace Chapel Assembly of God, 25 Lieutenant Island Rd, Wellfleet. He will then be laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery, Wellfleet immediately following the Service. In addition to his parents, he will be with his late uncle, Joseph Menengas and his grandmother, Caroline Tibbetts with whom he shared a close relationship.
