Auburn
Edith E. (Dionne) Fancy, 79, of Auburn, died peacefully Thursday, March 16, at home, surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Edward E. Fancy died in 1971. She leaves three children, Edward J. Fancy of Auburn, James P. and his wife Ann and their children, Christopher, Stephen and Nicole all of Auburn and Theresa J. Fancy with whom she lived; a sister, Elizabeth Gates of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, Ernest Dionne and his wife Barbara of Auburn and Archie Dionne and his wife Ruth of Dunnellon, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Archie and Elizabeth (Goodwin) Dionne and has lived in Auburn for many years.
Edith worked for TJ Maxx in Auburn for many years, before retiring. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and donated many afghans, mittens and slippers to various organizations.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 23, at 11 a.m. In Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Per her request there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag St. Auburn, 01501 or to UMASS Memorial Hospice, PO Box 2795, Worcester, 01613. Callahan and Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester is directing arrangements.
