Kathleen F. (Joubert) Ferreira, 83, of New Bedford died Friday July 19, 2002 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late George Ferreira, and daughter of the late Oscar and Frances (O'Mara) Joubert.
Mrs. Ferreira was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. James Church.
Mrs. Ferreira was formerly employed as a stitcher for Madewell Overall Manufacturing for 45 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 7 and the Amalgamated Cotton Garment Workers Union.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen A. Demers and her husband Fred of New Bedford; a sister, Rita Baty of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, James Demers, Paula Bailey, Michelle Demers, Derrick Demers, Suzanne Demers, and Joanne Demers, all of New Bedford; 3 great-grandchildren, Eric Demers, Craig Demers, and Chad Bailey; a niece and several cousins.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday July 22, 2002 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday July 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
