Obituary

Mary Woo, age 87, nee Mary Kan Tou Lew, formerly of Franklin and Marstons Mills, MA, passed peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, January 9 after a brief illness. She was born in Boston, the eldest daughter of Wing Jong Lew and Pon How Lee. She was the beloved wife of the late Avery Woo.

She was a loving mother to daughter Karyl and her husband Brian, son Randall,
daughter Judith and her husband James.

She leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Nicola, Matthew and Alexander and 3 great-grandchildren, Tessa, Kai and Cooper.

One of 10 siblings she is survived by her brothers Leo and Tommy and sisters May and Ellie. She is preceded in death by her sisters Jenny and Nancy and her brothers, Johnny, Billy and Henry. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

After graduation from Roxbury Memorial High School for Girls, she was an administrative assistant with the Shawmut Bank. She was a Sunday school teacher and choir member of the Dudley Street Baptist Church. Married for 52 years, Mary provided a warm and welcoming home. She and Avery loved traveling with her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, painter, crafter and cook. After raising her children, she worked at Mars Department Store and Douglas Rubber Stamps. She was a long time member of the Franklin Federated Church.

Burial is private at Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379 and Franklin Federated Church, 171 Main Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
