Nancy Cappuccio, a longtime Medford resident died at Alden Court Nursing Home, Fairhaven, after a short illness. She was 85.
Nancy was born in Mirabella Eclano, Italy, the daughter of the late Michael and the late Maria (Carpenito) Recupero. As a young woman, Nancy came to the United States and settled in Medford in 1945, after her marriage to Luigi Cappuccio, who came from the same town in Italy. A talented seamstress, Nancy practiced her craft all of her life. She worked as a dressmaker and also worked in the upholstery business. She made clothing for her family and friends, including her daughter’s wedding dress. Nancy loved to garden and kept her yard full of beautiful flowers and when in season, a variety of vegetables. Nancy was great in the kitchen as well, delighting her family and friends with delicious meals.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Luigi Cappuccio. She was a devoted mother to Anthony T. Cappuccio and his wife Gail of Merrimack, NH and Lucy Rounseville and her husband Douglas of Rochester. She was a loving grandmother of Laura and Michael Cappuccio, Rachel, Rebecca, Ruth, Robert Rounseville and great-grandmother of James. She was a dear sister to Frank Recupero, his wife Anna, and the late Prisco Recupero.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
