Obituary


Zilpha M. (Moorhouse) Gray, 93, of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, died January 6 following a brief illness at South Hospital.

Zilpha was born in East Bridgewater, MA to the late Esther and Dan Moorhouse, on October 17, 1927.

Zilpha married Milton Gray and were married 59 years until Milton’s death in 2007.

Zilpha was a career volunteer. Something that she truly loved. She was a woman of great faith and her passion was Mission and Justice for all. She volunteered for Heifer International, her church and Whitman Public Library. She served as a trustee of the Whitman Public Library, for many years and was a member of Friends of Whitman Library.

She and her husband raise their family in Whitman where she resided until the death of her husband, when she moved to West Bridgewater.

Besides her husband and parents Zilpha was also predeceased by her grandson, Sean Regan and her brother and sister-in-law Dan and Fran Moorhouse.

Zilpha is survived by her 5 children; Hazel Gray-Mitchell of Whitman, Marjorie DiSalvio and her husband Paul of Randolph, Marcia Sawdy and her husband Lachlan of Weymouth, Dorothy Regan and her life partner, Ed Chauncy of West Bridgewater, David Gray and his wife AnnMarie of Chicopee. Loving Gram to Rachel Salls, Benjamin and Rebecca Sibley, Scott Regan, Lisa DiSalvio and Trevor, Sarah and Caitlin Gray. Great-Gram to Connor, Megan, Wyatt and Kristina Salls, and Cameron Gray. Great-Great Gram to Charli and Perseus Salls.

Burial will be private. There will a celebration of her life in the spring.
