William Franklin “Bill” Zehring Jr., 81, of Carmel, passed away on January 6, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, following an extended illness. He was born on May 27, 1939 in Anderson, the son of William Franklin Zehring Sr. and Kathlyn (Fair) Zehring. A graduate of Ball State University, he was employed by the National Labor Relations Board and attended Heartland Unitarian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy; and children William III & Sharon, Benjamin, and Melinda & Tom; grandchildren Jennifer & Eddie, Ashley & Pat, Courtney & Ryan, Jenni & Ryan, Kayla, and Alex & Jeremy; great-grandchildren Lauren, Elijah, Andrea, Austin, Lexie, Brooklyn, Hayden, Jeremy, Charlie, and Luke. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Roberta Strader.
Private family graveside services will be held with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date for family, friends, and loved ones. Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled arrangements.
