Phyllis A. (Martens) Della Porta, 84, of Whitman, Massachusetts, died peacefully on January 9 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Dorchester on January 17, 1936, daughter of the late Anna (Frasca) Smith and Ernest Smith.

Phyllis attended the Boston Public School System. She later went on and met the love of her life, the late James J. Della Porta. The two were married in 1959, and they later moved to Randolph to raise their family.

Phyllis was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who watched every game she could. Her other favorite pastimes included reading, trips to the casinos, and socializing with her friends at Harvard Court in Whitman. Phyllis also loved family dinners and sharing love and laughter with her children, grandchildren and siblings. Her grandchildren were the love of her life, and any moments she got to spend with them were cherished.

Loving mother of Donna Bentley and her husband Mark, of Whitman, Patrick Della Porta and his wife Diane, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and Cheryl Della Porta, of Pembroke. Devoted sister of Marie Lee, of Whitman, Eileen Solari, of Wells, Maine, Joanne Kalasinsky, of New Hampshire, and the late Charles Martens, Carol Zubris and Richard Martens. Dear nana of James, Jaclyn, Matthew, Nicole, Michael and her precious Gianna. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
