Obituary

Beatrice Eloise (Williams) Carpenter, aka “Eloise” by her close friends, age 94, was called safely home on January 1, 2021 from Baystate Medical Center. She was born on April 30, 1926 in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late John K. and Dorothy H. (Bowers) Williams. She worked as an assistant supervisor for F.W. Sickles for many years and also for Buxton and Springfield Wire before she retired. Beatrice enjoyed baking and sewing and was very well known for it. Her friends and family often requested her baked goods and crafts. She loved to talk about and spend time with her family in Pennsylvania, who she missed dearly. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Rudolph N. Carpenter, who passed away in 1979. She is also predeceased by her daughter Shirley Bergeron; 4 sons, Robert, Harvey, Roger and Rudolph Carpenter; 2 brothers, John L. and Walter W. Williams and 5 sisters, Dorothy-Rebecca Williams, Betty Baronner, Bessie LaForm, Ethel Burket and Dolly Liabell. She is survived by her daughters Donna Fontaine and her fiancée George Croteau of Chicopee and Rita Roda of Springfield; her Brother Donald Williams of PA; her daughter-in-law Charlotte Carpenter of Chicopee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM followed by a Prayer Service at 11:30 AM in the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will take place in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 755 Prospect St, Chicopee, MA 01020.
